Bar feeders enable machine operators to spend time on production, rather than having to worry about stock. By holding and feeding bar stock to the lathe, the operator can switch seamlessly to the next unit of work after finishing, without needing to stop to get fresh stock.

Seven models of bar feed machine are available from ATS Systems. Unlike other brands of bar feed, ours are compatible with almost any lathe, so you won't have to worry if your machinery can be equipped. Contact us for a consultation if you have any compatibility questions.
All ATS Systems bar feed machines are servo-controlled, with two servo motors powering the feed system. Three-servo operation is available with select models as well. Select models can be equipped with feed-to-turret and spindle-pull capability.
More than 90 percent of bar stock mass is below the centerline, for the best balance and rigidity, ensuring reliable feeding. As the first company to introduce the short magazine barfeeder, in North America, we understand reliability and what customers expect.
All models can hold up to 25 bars, with a changeover time of 2 minutes plus spindle change.
All systems come with a single touchscreen for easy operation, requiring entry of only five parameters for operation. Up to 250 parameters can be stored in the on-board memory, and automatic mechanical adjustment for bar diameter and workpiece length. Setup time is blisteringly fast, and easy for any operator to master.
You only need to select the maximum bar diameter that you require for your workpieces. Our ML3 and MD Series of bar feed systems can be ordered for up to 2.56-inch, 3.13-inch and 3.75-inch bar diameters, with a maximum bar length of 60 inches and maximum stroke length of 65 inches. Our MD12 model has a maximum bar length of 72 inches, maximum stroke length of 80 inches and bar diameter of 4 inches.
